Before joining Mercer's Men's lacrosse program this fall, Coach Ronnie Sanna was the assistant coach of the Wilmington University Men's Lacrosse team in New Castle, Delaware from 2018 to 2021 and was elevated to the Associate Head Coach during the 2022 season. During his time with Wilmington University, he was nominated as assistant coach of the year. Sanna led Wilmington Men's Lacrosse to the #3 offense in NCAA Division II and has the #12 extra man offense in all of Division II. Before Sanna took the role of Offensive coordinator at Wilmington, Sanna was the Coach at Caravel Academy in Delaware. During his time with Caravel Academy, Sanna coached high school student-athletes who went on to play at schools like Loyola University and the University of Delaware.Â

As a player, Sanna played for four years at Marymount University. During his senior season in 2012, Sanna went 21 for 39 (.538-win percentage) at the faceoff x. Sanna also started in 10 out of their 16 games in his final season at Marymount University. He graduated in 2012 from Marymount University with a Bachelor of Health Science.
When talking about what he is looking forward to with Mercer Men's Lacrosse, Coach Sanna said that he is looking forward to, "connecting and fighting along side with the players and staff. This is an incredible time and opportunity for Mercer to start anew and change its national perception."
