Bears Set Fall Exhibition Schedule

Macon, Ga. – The Mercer Bears softball team announced Tuesday their 2010 fall schedule. The eight game calendar begins September 11 and will conclude against in-state rival Georgia on October 2 in Athens.
The Bears are coming off a 25-30 season a year ago and will have a healthy returning core of players including the team's all-time strikeout leader, senior pitcher Jenni Holtz. In total 15 players will be back in action in 2010 from last year's squad and Mike Raynor will enter his fifth season as the Bears head coach.
Eight newcomers adorn the 2010-11 roster including three junior college transfers. Caitlin Peisel and Tiffany Phillips were teammates at Georgia Perimeter College and Kassie Bailey is a transfer from Middle Georgia. Five freshmen also made their way to Macon this fall and will look to fill the gaps after the departure of three seniors a season ago.
