
Men's Soccer Faces UNCG On Saturday

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's soccer team continues its' two-game road trip at UNCG on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. in Greensboro, N.C.

SCOUTING UNCG
The Spartans are currently in third in the SoCon standings, behind Mercer and Wofford, who are tied for first. UNCG enters the match with a 3-8-2 overall mark and a 3-1-1 record in SoCon play.
Mercer and UNCG met on Oct. 7 in Macon, and the Bears eked out a 3-2 win. Overall, the Spartans lead the series, 3-1.
Dustin Gamradt leads UNCG with three goals and two assists for eight points. Austin Miller ranks second on the team with three goals and one assist for seven points, while Tommi Gardarsson is third with three goals for six points.
William Pyle has started the last seven games in goal for the Spartans. He has made 36 saves and notched a .818 save percentage and a 1.09 goals-against average. Pyle is currently ranked No. 1 in the SoCon for save percentage and is second in saves per game (5.14).
UNCG has been outscored by its opponents, 17-14, this season and outshot, 199-169.
MERCER NOTES
The Bears have an 8-5 overall record and a 4-1 mark in league play. Mercer's first loss in the SoCon came on Wednesday in a 2-1 decision against Wofford.
Mercer's offense has been led by Will Bagrou, who has tallied five goals and three assists for 13 points. Max Poore, Carson Brooks and Jourdan Gooden are tied for second on the team with three goals each, and Poore has added two assists.
Greg Ranjitsingh has played every minute between the pipes for the Bears, notching 56 saves, a .812 save percentage and a 0.98 GAA. He has also recorded seven shutouts on the season. Ranjitsingh is second in the SoCon in total saves and GAA, while ranking third in save percentage and saves per game (4.31). He is also ranked No. 23 in the nation in total saves.
Mercer has outscored its opponents, 21-13, this season as well as outshooting them, 185-162.
