MACON – Kellen Ruzzo and Dominic Economopoulos, a pair of local standouts, become the newest additions to the Bears' 2026 signing class, the men's soccer program announced recently.
Kellen Ruzzo
Macon, Ga. | Mary Persons HS | Goalkeeper
Ruzzo, a 6-foot-1 goalkeeper, is a product of Mary Persons High School where he has spent the last four seasons playing under Jacobs Haygood. As a junior, Ruzzo appeared in 20 games, kept seven clean sheets and maintained a 1.4 goals against average. Ruzzo and the Bulldogs tied the record for the most wins in school history at 16 and tied the deepest playoff run in school history with an elite eight appearance. Ruzzo earned Second Team All-Region honors as Mary Persons finished second in their region in 2025. On the club level, Ruzzo played for AFC Lightning where he made 54 total appearances and kept 19 clean sheets under head coach Ricardo Berna.
Associate Head Coach Ricky Davey on Ruzzo: "Kellen has solid foundations, displays a great understanding of the game and brings a fantastic mindset along with him. We know that he is going to be a great teammate that will help push his teammates to higher standards. We are excited to bring Kellen into our program."
Dominic Economopoulos
Macon, Ga. | First Presbyterian Day School | Midfielder
Economopoulos, a 5-foot-9 midfielder, joins the Bears after years of filling up the stat sheet at First Presbyterian Day School. As a junior, Economopoulos scored 29 goals and recorded 15 assists. Economopoulos has received All-Region honors every season of his high school career while receiving All-Region and All-State nods as a sophomore and a junior.
