MACON – Head coach Brad Ruzzo announced the addition of two in-state recruits to the men's soccer team in the early signing window.
Andrew Seward | Defender
Grayson, Ga. | Grayson High School | Lanier Soccer Association – MLS Next
Seward is listed as a 6-foot-5 centerback and is coming off a decorated career at Grayson High School. Grayson, coached by John Heck, finished 11-2 and as the state runner-up. Seward received Georgia High School Association (GHSA) 6A Region 4 All-Region First Team honors in his first three seasons as a Ram. Seward's junior campaign ended with him as the Defender of the Year, a member of the All-State squad and the GHSA All Star Game MVP.
Seward plays club soccer with the Lanier Soccer Association Sharks as a member of the MLS Next U19 squad. MLS Next is a youth soccer league that is managed, organized and controlled by Major League Soccer. Before joining LSA, Seward was a member of the Gwinnett Soccer Academy where he competed in the ECNL.
A multi-sport athlete, Seward was a member of Grayson's varsity basketball team his junior year. The Rams finished 28-4, ranked as high as No. 4 in the country and made a trip to the GHSA 6A Final Four.
Associate head coach Ricky Davey on Seward – "We are excited to welcome Andrew to the program. His athleticism and defensive capabilities will add to our defensive core."
Noah Bright | Forward
Alpharetta, Ga. | Alpharetta High School | NASA Tophats
Listed at 5-foot-8, Bright commits to Mercer after a three-year career at Alpharetta High School. Bright played as both a forward and a fullback, leading the Raiders to the GHSA 6A State Playoffs and finishing as Alpharetta's top goal-scorer his junior year to receive Second Team All-Region honors.
Bright plays club soccer with the NASA Tophats in the ECNL as a member of their U19 squad. The Tophats, led by Todd Gispert, finished 14-2-0 last season to win the league championship with Bright finishing as the top goal-scorer in 2024-25. Bright also received All-Conference honors in 2023-24.
Coach Davey on Bright – "Noah is an old-fashioned fox in the box. He can sniff the goal, and we are excited to bring those abilities to Mercer. We've known Noah for a while and are excited to welcome him to the program."
