
Men's Soccer Hosts VMI on Saturday

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's soccer team will host VMI on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 4:30 p.m. at Bear Field.

Fans are encouraged to stay after the game for postgame autographs. The men's team will sign the 2014 team posters on the sideline closest to the concession stand.
SCOUTING VMI
The Keydets enter the match with an overall record of 1-13-1 and a 0-7 mark in Southern Conference play. Mercer defeated VMI, 1-0, when the teams met in Lexington, Va., on Sept. 27.
Hunter Morgan leads VMI with three goals, while Travis Borkey and Andrew Starnes have each scored a goal to account for all of the team's offensive output this season. The Keydets have been outscored, 47-5, and outshot, 326-112.
In goal, Alex Guerra has made 77 saves and allowed 39 goals for a .664 save percentage and a 3.71 goals-against average.
MERCER NOTES
Mercer currently tops the SoCon standings with a 10-5 record and has gone 6-1 in league action.
The Bears are led by Will Bagrou's 19 points off seven goals and five assists. Jordan Duru and Max Poore are second on the team with eight points off three goals and two assists each. Carson Brooks and Jourdan Gooden have also scored three goals each.
Between the pipes, Greg Ranjitsingh has notched 65 saves and allowed just 16 goals for a .802 save percentage and a 1.04 GAA. Ranjitsingh has recorded s even shutouts this season. He is also ranked No. 16 nationally in total saves.
The Bears are ranked second in the conference in several categories, including total points (79), total goals (26), total assists (27) and scoring offense (1.73). They are also ranked in the top 25 nationally in total assists (18th), total goals (21st) and total points (23rd).
