
Men's Soccer To Face Furman in SoCon Final

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's soccer team will face Furman in the Southern Conference Tournament title match on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m.

SCOUTING FURMAN
Furman is the No. 3 seed in the SoCon Tournament and enters the match with an 11-5-3 record. The Paladins defeated Wofford, 1-0, in a very physical semifinal game.
Lewis Hawke leads Furman with seven goals and two assists for 16 points. Bobby Edet has scored five goals for 10 points, while Kevin Pahl has tallied a team-leading five assists and added two goals for a total of nine points.
Between the pipes, Sven Lissek has made 51 saves and allowed 12 goals for a .810 save percentage and a 0.64 goals-against average. Lissek was one of two goalkeepers picked for the SoCon All-Conference Second Team.
MERCER NOTES
Mercer won the SoCon regular season title to earn the top seed in the tournament. The Bears defeated UNCG, 1-0, to improve to 14-6 on the season and advance to the championship game.
Mercer and Furman split a pair of regular-season matchups, with Mercer winning 3-0 in Macon and Furman used a late penalty kick to win 2-1 in Greenville.
The Bears are led offensively by SoCon Freshman of the Year, Will Bagrou. Bagrou has scored 12 goals on the season, including the golden goal in double overtime to propel Mercer to the championship game. Bagrou is ranked fifth nationally in total points (29) and No. 6 in total goals, while also leading the league in both categories.
Max Poore is second for Mercer with four goals and two assists for 10 points, and Jordan Duru, Carson Brooks and Jourdan Gooden have all notched three goals this season.
In goal, Greg Ranjitsingh has made 103 saves and allowed just 19 goals for a .844 save percentage and a 0.92 GAA. Ranjitsingh, who was named the SoCon Goalkeeper of the Year, has recorded a league-leading 10 shutouts this season. The senior is third in the nation in total saves and is ranked No. 8 in save percentage; he also leads the league in both categories.
