Men's Cross Country Closes Season at NCAA South Regional

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Mercer University men's cross country team wrapped up its 2014 season at the NCAA South Regional on Friday morning, finishing 21st overall in the team standings.
The Bears posted an average time of 34:12.66 in their first 10k race of the season, tallying 638 points at the meet. Ole Miss took home top team honors, while Florida State and Auburn rounded out the top three.
Senior Davis Trexler led Mercer in his final collegiate race, crossing the line in 33:16.00 for 112th place to top the Bears for the second time this season. Austin Pfeifer finished second on the team to close out his career as well, registering a time of 33:57.70 en route to 125th place overall.
Nicholas Ashmead cracked the top three for the Bears, booking a time of 34:29.60 to finish 131st. Andrew Anastasiades was just behind in 133rd place, completing the course in 34:32.20, while Jeff Law rounded out the scoring for Mercer in 137th place with a time of 34:48.00.
