
Men's Golf Looks to Stay Hot at Linger Longer

EATONTON, Ga. – Just seven days removed from the second team championship of the 2013-14 academic year, the Mercer men's golf team will look to keep the good times rolling while co-hosting the Linger Longer Invitational on Saturday and Sunday at Great Waters Golf Course.
Mercer joins Kennesaw State in welcoming 13 other squads for the competition, which will play at a 7,073-yard, par-72 format. Other teams at the even include Alabama, Charlotte, Chattanooga, Clemson, Furman, Georgia, Liberty, Michigan State, North Florida, Oklahoma, South Alabama, Southern Mississippi and Yale.
Mercer's five-member lineup consists of senior Hans Reimers, junior Trey Rule, senior James Beale, freshman Emmanuel Kountakis and freshman Sean Smothers. Sophomore Parks Brown will compete as an individual.
The Bears will play alongside Kennesaw State, Alabama and Georgia in the first round, which is slated for an 8:30 a.m. start. Saturday's play will feature 36 holes of action before Sunday's concluding 18 holes.
