
Men's Soccer Takes on UNCG on Tuesday

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's soccer team returns to Bear Field to host UNCG on Tuesday, Oct. 20 at 7:00 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Mercer recorded its first tie in exactly two years as the Bears played the Wofford Terriers to a 1-1 draw on Saturday night in Spartanburg, S.C. Jordan Duru scored for Mercer in the 43rd minute, assisted by Nickolas Tripodi, but Wofford equalized in the 90' with a score from Nestor Jaramillo.
SERIES HISTORY
UNCG holds a 4-3 advantage over Mercer in the series history, including a 2-1 overtime win in the SoCon opener this season. The Spartans took an early lead, but Ian Antley equalized with a penalty kick in the 63rd minute. Neither team scored in the final 27 minutes of regulation, but UNCG put away the golden goal in the 95th minute to register the 2-1 win.
SCOUTING UNCG
Thus far, UNCG has tallied a 3-1-2 SoCon record, putting the Spartans at second in league standings. UNCG has also recorded a 2-1 mark in conference road games this season.
Jacques Francois and Damieon Thomas lead the Spartans with five goals each, tying them for second in the conference in total goals. Francois has also notched five assists to total 15 points, putting him atop the league standings for total points and total assists as well as third in points per game (1.00).
Thomas is second for UNCG with 12 points, followed by Leeroy Maguraushe with four goals and two assists for 10 points. An additional 12 players have scored a goal, dished out an assist or both, meaning 15 players have played a part in UNCG's scoring this season.
Logan Rohde has played a majority of the season in goal for the Spartans, recording 35 saves and allowing 14 goals. Rohde has a .714 save percentage and 1.19 goals-against average. However, freshman keeper Jon Milligan has played the entirety of each of the last four games for UNCG. Milligan has made 18 saves and allowed two goals for a .900 save percentage and 0.45 GAA.

MERCER NOTES
Bagrou leads Mercer with four goals this season, ranking him fifth in the SoCon. He has also tallied three assists to total 11 points, which puts him at sixth in the league standings.
Duru and Conner Antley have each scored three goals and are tied for second for the Bears. Duru has added two assists and Antley has registered one to total eight and seven points, respectively. All three of Antley's goals have been game-winning scores, ranking him first in the SoCon and 24th nationally.
In goal, Jeremy Booth has made 64 saves and allowed 16 goals for an .800 save percentage and 1.11 GAA. Booth has also anchored a Mercer defense that has notched a league-leading five shutouts, tying the Bears with Furman and UNCG.
Booth is second in the SoCon in save percentage, total saves and saves per game (4.57). He is also ranked ninth nationally in total saves and 27th in saves per game.
