
Men's Soccer Heads to Furman for Regular Season Finale

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's soccer team will conclude the regular season on Saturday, Oct. 31 at Furman. The match between the Bears and the Paladins is set to begin at 7:00 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Mercer recorded its fourth consecutive shutout of ETSU with a 3-0 victory on Tuesday night. Max Poore registered his first two goals of the season and Jordan Duru added one of his own. The Mercer defense also tallied its sixth shutout this season, which includes two in conference play.
SERIES HISTORY
The series with the Paladins is knotted at 4-4, including Furman's 1-0 win in double overtime this season in Macon.
SCOUTING FURMAN
After notching a 1-3-2 mark in non-conference play, Furman has tallied a 6-2-1 record in league action, heading into the regular season finale. As a team, Furman has outscored its opponents, 19-16, this season, including a 14-7 mark in SoCon games. Additionally, all five of the Paladins' shutouts have come in conference play.
Lewis Hawke and Eli Pinner lead Furman with eight points apiece, as each player has scored three goals and tallied two assists. Bobby Edet has also scored a team-high three goals, while Kevin Pahl leads the Paladins with three assists. A total of 13 Furman players have scored a goal, dished out an assist or both.
Sven Lissek has spent a majority of time in goal for the Paladins, notching 28 saves and allowing 11 goals for a .718 save percentage and 0.79 goals-against average. Lissek leads the SoCon in GAA, while ranking third in save percentage.
MERCER NOTES
Jordan Duru leads Mercer with five goals, four assists and 14 points, including two game-winning scores this season. Will Bagrou is second for the Bears with four goals, three assists and 11 points. Kobe Perez has also tallied three assists in addition to his three goals for a total of nine points.
As a team, Mercer is second in the conference with 24 assists and 1.41 assists per game. The Bears are also third in the league in total goals (25) and total points (74).
In goal, Jeremy Booth has made 71 saves and allowed 20 goals for a .780 save percentage and 1.15 GAA. Booth has also anchored a Mercer defense that has notched six shutouts, good enough for second in the SoCon, just behind UNCG's seven clean sheets.
Booth leads the league in save percentage, while ranking second in the conference and 15th in the nation in total saves. Mercer's defense also ranks first in the conference in save percentage (.780).
