Bears Face Chattanooga In Sunday Matchup

MACON, Ga. – Mercer is on the road for the second weekend of conference play and will take on Chattanooga on Sunday at 2 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Mercer fell to Samford, 2-0, on Friday evening in Birmingham. The Bears' offense was flat in the first half and had more fire in the second half, but the Bulldogs game out early and took a 1-0 lead. Samford added a goal in the second half and maintained the advantage for the win.

SERIES HISTORY
Chattanooga holds a 3-2 advantage in the series, with both of Mercer's wins coming in SoCon play. The Bears won 8-1 in 2014 in Chattanooga and 6-1 in Macon last season.

SCOUTING CHATTANOOGA
Chattanooga has started the conference with a 2-1 record after falling to Furman, 0-4, and defeating Wofford, 2-1, and The Citadel, 1-0.

Peyton McCollum leads Chattanooga with four goals, four assists and 12 points. Ellie Myrick has also netted a team-leading four goals, while adding two assists and totaling 10 points. Hannah Torbett and McKenzie Gregg have each dished out three assists for the Mocs, tying for second on the team.

Melia Correa and Katie Emig have split time in goal this season for the Mocs. Correa has played 740 minutes, made 37 saves and allowed 13 goals for a .740 save percentage and 1.58 goals-against average. Emig has spent 360 minutes in goal for Chattanooga, including 90 minutes in Friday's win over The Citadel. Emig has made 12 saves and allowed four goals for a .750 save percentage and 1.0 GAA.

MERCER NOTES
After her hat trick in last week's win over ETSU, Maddie Clark leads Mercer with seven goals. Clark is also tied for second in the conference in total goals and is fourth in total points.

Logan Culver and Abbey Reddig have each scored a pair of goals for the Bears, totaling four points. Caroline Smith has notched a team leading three assists, while Jamilah Tejan has recorded two assists.

Cristina Mursuli has spent a majority of time in goal for Mercer and played 90 minutes in all of Mercer's SoCon matches. Mursuli has made 43 saves and allowed 17 goals for a .717 save percentage and 1.95 GAA. Mercer's defense has tallied three shutouts this season.

As a team, Mercer has scored 16 goals, while the Bears' opponents have scored 19 goals. Eleven of Mercer's goals have been assisted and the Bears are 3-of-4 on penalty kicks.
