
Mercer Hosts South Carolina State in Pink Out

MACON, Ga. – The Bears are returning to Macon after picking up a pair of conference road wins this weekend and the Mercer women's soccer team will host South Carolina State on Wednesday in the final non-conference matchup of the season. The match will also serve as Mercer's annual Pink Out match.

Maddie Clark scored the golden goal in the match at Wofford on Sunday to lead the Bears to their second straight victory. Clark netted the only score of the match in the 92nd minute to secure to 1-0 win for Mercer.

Mercer holds a 4-0 record over South Carolina State in the series history. The two teams have not faced off since a 12-0 Mercer win in 2004.

Maddie Clark continues to lead Mercer with nine goals and 19 points after scoring both game-winning goals in last week's matches. Clark was named the SoCon Player of the Week on Tuesday for her efforts in Mercer's wins over Furman and Wofford. The redshirt senior currently ranks third in the conference in total goals, total points, goals per game (0.64) and points per game (1.36). Clark also ranks 27th nationally in total goals and is second in the league and 16th nationally with four game-winning goals.

Logan Culver is second for the Bears with three goals and six points, followed by Abbey Reddig with two goals and four points. Caroline Smith has tallied a team-leading three assists, while Emma Chandlee and Jamilah Tejan are second with two assists each.

Cristina Mursuli has spent a majority of time in goal for Mercer. She has made 54 saves and allowed 19 goals for .740 save percentage and a 1.62 GAA. The Bears have logged five shutouts this season and Mursuli recently recorded her first two complete game shutouts last week against Furman and Wofford.
