THE BEARS IN THE TEAM STANDINGS
Mercer carded a team score of 302 (14-over-par) to climb three places on the team leaderboard, putting the Bears within six strokes of a Top-3 finish. The College of Charleston and Coastal Carolina each climbed up the board as well in the second round and will head into the final round tied for first with a total score of 589.
MERCER SPOTLIGHT
Tindal continued to lead the Bears at their second tournament of the spring, as she moved up eight spots on the individual leaderboard with her second straight 1-over 73. The sophomore, who finished third at the spring-opening FGCU Invitational, is on pace for back-to-back Top-10 finishes for the first time in her Mercer career.
HOLE OF THE DAY
Hanna recorded the Orange and Black's hole of the day, thanks to an eagle on the Par-5 No. 4 Hole. The junior hit a three-wood downwind off the tee, before using a hybrid to land within five feet of the hole on her approach shot. She rolled in the putt for the eagle to help key a four-stroke turnaround on the second day.
COACH DRINKARD'S TAKE
"I thought the team managed the golf course very well in the 15 mph winds we faced today. We are getting better every round adjusting to windy conditions and it's fun to watch their confidence level grow. Jaelyn came up huge for us today. She didn't hit very many greens in regulation today but she kept grinding and chipped and putted the lights out of it."
