Men’s Soccer Hosts Jacksonville Wednesday

MACON, Ga. – After a six-day break between matches, the Mercer men's soccer team will kick back into gear by hosting Jacksonville on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 7 p.m. at Bear Field. The Bears, who are riding a two-match win streak, had their most recent match against Central Florida cancelled due to inclement weather on Sept. 11.

SERIES HISTORY
Former ASUN foes Mercer and Jacksonville will meet for the 27th time in an all-time series the Bears trail 7-16-3. It is their first match since 2013 when Jacksonville upended the Bears 2-1 in Macon. Mercer's last win against the Dolphins came in 2010 with a 1-0 victory that needed extra time.
SOCON'S STANDARD
Since joining the Southern Conference in 2014, Mercer has the best overall record in the league at 29-14-3 (.663). Furman ranks second at 23-11-12 (.630) during that span, while Wofford is also over .600 at 24-15-3 (.607).

Jacksonville will arrive in Macon boasting a 3-2 record and a three-match win streak, having defeated UNC Asheville, Georgia Southern and South Florida in the past week and a half. The 2-0 victory over USF on Sept. 8 was Jacksonville's first road match of the season and the latter of two straight clean sheets following a 3-0 win against Georgia Southern on Sept. 5.
The Dolphins have outscored opponents 8-5 so far and are offensively led by freshman midfielder Kai Bennett's four goals. Sophomore goalkeeper Patrick Harding is 2-2 with a .545 save percentage in four starts while senior goalkeeper Liam O'Connor earned the clean sheet against Georgia Southern.
