MACON, Ga. – A questionable handball call in the first overtime period led to the eventual game-winning strike from the Paladins as Furman upended Mercer, 2-1.

STAT OF THE MATCH
Furman poured on 14 shots in the match, compared to 10 for the Bears. The Paladins also won the shots on goal battle, 4-3.

MAN OF THE MATCH
Conner Antley buried his second goal of the season, garnering tonight's man of the match honors. Antley's goal came via the corner kick sent in by Leo Toledo Jr.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Furman jumped on board first in the third minute of play following Cole McLagen's header, sent into the box by Danny Kierath.

Mercer knotted the match at one apiece in the 17th minute of play thanks to Antley's header. Toledo Jr. played a perfect ball to the back post on the corner kick where Antley was there to finish up the job with a header sent to the far post.

Both teams were deadlocked at 1-1 until the 95th minute of play when the Paladins were granted a questionable free kick just outside the Mercer 18-yard box. Kierath stepped up to lace a shot into the near side of the goal for the 2-1 victory in extra time.
