Mercer Hosts Savannah State in Mid-Week Match

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer volleyball team (6-9) will host its final nonconference opponent of the season, Savannah State, on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 6 p.m. in Hawkins Arena.

Mercer is 4-7 in nonconference matches this season.
Paige Alsten leads the SoCon in hitting percentage (.371) and blocks per set (1.07).
Emily Krogman ranks second in the SoCon for service aces (27).
Morgan MacGilvary and Claire Waliczek registered their third straight double-doubles Saturday against Western Carolina, totaling six double-doubles each for the season.
Waliczek leads the Bears in assists per set (9.81), ranking fifth in the SoCon.

SCOUTING SAVANNAH STATE
The Tigers head into Bear territory with a 2-14 record after falling, 3-2, to Florida A&M on Sunday. Savannah State is led by Tyran Chenault, who owns 69 kills and 42 total blocks for the season. Alee Quint sparks the offense with 3.80 assists per set. Leiri Melendez, the backbone for the Tigers, tops the team with 144 digs for the season.
