Bears Wrap Up Weekend At Wagner

MACON, Ga. – Mercer's weekend road trip will conclude on Sunday afternoon at Wagner in Staten Island, New York. The Bears and the Seahawks are set to play at 12 p.m.

DOMINATING THE FACEOFF X
Mercer has started the season very strong at the faceoff X, currently leading the SoCon with a 56.2 winning percentage. Will Beecham is second in the league with a 57.4 winning percentage, while Kiel Brennan is fourth with a 55.4 percentage. Mercer is the only team in the SoCon with two players ranked in the top five in the conference.

OFFENSE OUTPUT
Mercer is averaging 8.40 goals per game thus far, ranking the Bears fifth in the league in scoring offense. Mercer is also fifth in the league with 13.40 points per game, while ranking fourth with 5.00 assists per game.

MAKE IT, TAKE IT
In addition to performing well offensively, Mercer is leading the SoCon with 9.20 caused turnovers per game. Walker Ensor leads Mercer with eight caused turnovers this far.

ALL CLEAR
Mercer is 81-of-93 on clears so far this season, notching an 87.1 clear percentage. As of March 9, the Bears rank seventh in the SoCon and 44th nationally.

NEW FACES IN THE CAGE
Mercer has looked to two new faces in goal so far this season as freshman Bradley Hodoval and redshirt freshman Brett Quartuccio have both made starts for the Bears. Hodoval has spent a majority of the time between the pipes, having played the entirety of the three complete games. Hodoval has a .481 save percentage and an 10.09 goals-against average and Quartuccio has recorded a .409 save percentage and a 13.54 GAA.

Mercer leads in the series, 3-0, which includes a 2-0 mark in Staten Island. Both road wins for the Bears came with Head Coach Kyle Hannan at the helm.

SCOUTING WAGNER
Wagner is 4-2 on the year and currently on a three-game win streak, which includes an 11-8 victory over Mercer's fellow SoCon member, VMI.

Andrew Streilein leads the Seahawks with 11 goals, eight assists and 19 points. Joe Lomeli is second with 10 goals, while Nick Acona has notched nine goals and six assists for 15 points.

Anthony Labetti and Nick Warren split time at the faceoff X for Wagner. Labetti is 33-of-77 for a 41.6 winning percentage and Warren is 28-of-55 for a 50.9 percentage. Labetti also has 16 ground balls, which ranks third on the team.

Matt Sefcik has played the most time between the pipes for Wagner. He has made 77 saves and allowed 60 goals for a .562 save percentage and 9.29 GAA.
