
Mercer Set for Two-Match Slate at UNCW Beach Bash

Bears seeking program wins record Saturday
WILMINGTON, N.C. – Mercer takes a four-match win streak to the UNCW Beach Bash where it will face host UNC Wilmington and No. 11 (AVCA) South Carolina in nonconference action Saturday, April 1.
The two matches are scheduled for first serves of noon (UNCW) and 4 p.m. (South Carolina). The Bears (10-5) tied a program record of 10 wins with a sweep of Coastal Carolina on Wednesday at Bear Beach and will look to set a new mark against a pair of opponents they have already faced once this season. Mercer fell to South Carolina, 4-1, and UNCW, 3-2, earlier this season.
Two matches against Stevenson and Coastal Carolina were originally scheduled for Sunday, April 2, but have since been cancelled.

- Mercer has reached 10 wins in each of the last three seasons. The Bears have nine regular season matches left in pursuit of setting a new program wins record.
- The Orange and Black are 1-3 all-time against South Carolina. It will be Mercer's fourth match this season against a nationally ranked opponent.
- Mercer is 0-1 all-time against UNCW, falling in their first ever meeting earlier this year.
- No. 1 seed Tori Penrod/Emily Krogman and No. 3 seed Danielle Faust/Claire Waliczek are tied for the team lead in wins (11). Emma and Sophie Peel (No. 2 seed) are not far behind, owning a 9-3 record.
