RESULTS

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Strong winds near the ocean plagued Mercer as the Bears finished the first two rounds of play at the Fort Lauderdale Collegiate in ninth place at 20-over-par. Jerry Ren, in 20^th, is just three strokes back of a top-10 finish on the individual leaderboard.

MERCER ON THE TEAM LEADERBOARD
Mercer is in ninth place at 35-over-par following two rounds of play and enters the final round just four strokes shy of a three-way tie for third – Loyola, St. Bonaventure and Drake – all at 31-over-par. The Bears have a 15-stroke lead over Stetson as the Hatters are 10^th at 50-over-par.

MERCER ON THE INDIVIDUAL LEADERBOARD
Jerry Ren, at 6-over-par, is 20^th following two rounds of action and just three strokes back of a top-10 finish in a closely contested field. Seton Hall's Gen Nagai leads the individual competition at 3-under-par with three golfers tied for second at even-par. Kiko Rosete (+7) is one stroke and place behind Ren as he is tied for 21^st.

COACH KAYDEN'S COMMENTS
"Jerry Ren had a solid day in the strong winds and I was proud of his consistency. As a team we were not able to adjust to the heavy winds that are plaguing the golf course."
"Unfortunately we had to count low 80 in the first round then a high 70 in the second round. That hurt our team score and place through 36 holes. We need to regroup and move up the leaderboard in the final round tomorrow morning."

TUESDAY'S PAIRINGS
Mercer will be paired with Drake and St. Bonaventure as the final round tees off at 8 a.m. Tuesday.
