Mercer Back In Macon, Hosting Howard Friday

MACON, Ga. – The Bears are back at Five Star Stadium this weekend and are hosting Howard on Friday at 5 p.m.

OUTSTANDING OFFENSE
Mercer, which has won three games by 10+ goals this season, leads the ASUN with 16.00 goals per game and a 6.30 scoring margin. Additionally, the Bears are averaging 24.70 points per game, which leads the nation. Mercer is third in the nation in goals per game and fifth in scoring margin. The Bears are also leading the league with a 47.1 shot percentage.

ZELTWANGER AND LEONE LEADING THE WAY
With 34 goals and 32 assists, Lindsey Zeltwanger is leading Mercer in points (66) and assists. Kate Leone has scored a team-leading 37 goals, and Leone and Zeltwanger are trailed by Meghan Segreti and Erica Coyne with 24 and 22 goals, respectively.

Zeltwanger leads the ASUN in points and assists, while Leone leads the league in goals. Zeltwanger also leads the nation in assists per game (3.20) and is second nationally with 6.60 points per game. Leone is seventh nationally with her 3.70 goals per game.

SHARING IS CARING
The Bears are leading the league and rank second in the nation with 8.70 assists per game this season and Zeltwanger leads the nation in assists per game (3.20) and ranks fourth with 32 total assists. In addition to Zeltwanger's league-leading 32 assists, Kate Leone and Meghan Segreti are tied for seventh with 13 assists each.

DOMINATING THE DRAW CIRCLE
The Bears have led in the draw circle in six of their 10 games, leading to an average of 14.20 draw controls per game. Mercer currently ranks second in the league and 23rd nationally in draw controls per game.

Meghan Segreti is third in the conference with 4.40 draw controls per game. She also ranks third in program history on the single-season leaderboard with 44 draw controls and is just 12 draw controls out of first place. Segreti, who is also Mercer's career leader in draw controls, is 48 draw controls away from the 200th of her career.

GROUND BALLS APLENTY
Aided by a program-record 38 ground balls against Butler, Mercer leads the nation with 26.10 ground balls per game. The Bears' 38 ground balls also set a single-game high in the nation so far this season.

Haleigh Wurzel leads the Bears with 33 ground balls and ranks third in the league with 3.30 ground balls per game. Catie Snee is second for Mercer with 26 ground balls and is just four ground balls away from earning a spot on Mercer's single-season ground ball leaderboard.

SCOUTING HOWARD
Howard has started ASUN play at 0-3, falling to Delaware State, Stetson and Jacksonville. The Bison have played just five games this season and are 0-5 on the year.

Natia Warren leads Howard with seven points and seven goals, followed by Asiyah Frank with six points off six goals.

Warren also leads the Bison with 14 ground balls and 22 draw controls, while ranking second on the team with four caused turnovers. Frank has notched a team-leading five caused turnovers and is second for Howard with 13 ground balls.

In goal, Amerra Scheckles has played a majority of the minutes for Howard. She has made 43 saves and allowed 87 goals for a .331 save percentage and 21.75 goals-against average.
