Bears Looking For Fifth Straight Win Against Hornets

MACON, Ga. – Mercer is looking for its program-record fifth straight win on Sunday when it hosts Delaware State. The Bears are also hoping to start ASUN play with a 5-0 record, which would also be a program-best.

OUTSTANDING OFFENSE
Mercer, which has won four games by 10+ goals this season, leads the ASUN with 16.73 goals per game and is fourth in the league with 16.50 goals per game in ASUN action. Mercer also leads the conference with a 48.3 shot percentage.

Mercer scored a program-record 40 points and 24 goals in Friday's win over Howard. The 20-goal win was also the largest margin of victory in the program's three-year history.

ZELTWANGER AND LEONE LEADING THE WAY
With 36 goals and 37 assists, Lindsey Zeltwanger is leading the ASUN in points (73) and assists. Kate Leone has scored a league-leading 42 goals, and Leone and Zeltwanger are trailed by Meghan Segreti and Erica Coyne with 27 and 25 goals, respectively.

Zeltwanger and Leone rank first and second in the ASUN in both points and goals. Zeltwanger leads in points and Leone is second with 58 points, while Leone leads in goals and Zeltwanger is second.

The Bears are leading the league 9.36 assists per game, which was bolstered by the program-record 16 assists against Howard on Friday. Zeltwanger leads Mercer with 37 assists, followed by Meghan Segreti with 17 and Kate Leone with 16.

DOMINATING THE DRAW CIRCLE
The Bears have led in the draw circle in seven of their 11 games, leading to an average of 15.09 draw controls per game. Mercer currently ranks second in the league in draws per game. Against Howard, Mercer grabbed a program-record 24 draw controls.

Meghan Segreti is second in the ASUN with her 49 draw controls on the year. She also ranks third in program history on the single-season leaderboard and is just five draw controls out of first place. Segreti, who is also Mercer's career leader in draw controls, is 43 draw controls away from the 200th of her career.

After Friday's games, Mercer is narrowly behind Kennesaw State in ground balls per game. The Bears are averaging 25.91 and the Owls have scooped up 26.18 ground balls per game.

Haleigh Wurzel leads the Bears with 33 ground balls, while Lindsey Zeltwanger is second for Mercer with 29 ground balls and is just one ground ball away from earning her second spot on Mercer's single-season ground ball leaderboard. Catie Snee is third for the Bears with 27 ground balls.
