MACON, Ga. – For the third straight match, Mercer women's tennis lost by the narrowest of margins, 4-3, as Charleston Southern edged Mercer on Sunday morning.

Mercer grabbed the doubles point and a 1-0 lead in the match after wins at flights one and two. Haley Powell put the Bears up 2-0 after her 6-2, 6-1 win at flight five.

Charleston Southern tied the match, 2-2, after wins at flights four and three. Katia Stavroulaki won 6-4, 6-4 at flight one and Mercer was back in the lead, 3-2.

The Buccaneers won the final two singles matches to edge the Bears and grab the 4-3 win.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH
Haley Powell went 2-0 on the day after a 7-5 doubles win with Katie Sidor and then a 6-2, 6-1 win to start singles strong for the Bears.

Mercer is at Kennesaw State on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the final road match of the season.
