SEATTLE, Wash. – Mercer Men's Soccer notched its first win of the season in its fifth-consecutive overtime contest as the Bears defeated No. 16 Washington at Husky Soccer Stadium in Seattle, Wash.

Mercer matched Washington in the shot count as both squads tallied 15 shots apiece. However, the Bears placed seven shots on goal compared to just three from the Huskies.

Will Bagrou elevated the Bears over the Huskies with his fourth goal of the season in the 91st minute to lay claim to the 2-1 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Washington struck first in the 17th minute as Elijah Rice stepped up to bury a penalty kick for the early 1-0 advantage.

Ramario Thompson buried the equalizer in the 24th minute thanks to persistence. After Thompson's initial header was turned away, the redshirt junior buried the ball into the back of the net off the rebound for his second goal of the season.

Neither team could find the go-ahead goal in regulation, setting up for Mercer's fifth-consecutive overtime game.
