SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Mercer Men's Soccer cruised to a 3-1 victory over the Wofford Terriers at Snyder Field in Spartanburg, S.C. The contest marked the SoCon opener for both squads.

STAT OF THE MATCH
Mercer had the same amount of shots on goal as Wofford did total shots for the contest, seven. The Bears recorded seven shots on goal to just four for the Terriers.

MAN OF THE MATCH
Trenton Whitely and Conner Antley were tabbed as co-men of the match as both seniors finished the game with two assists apiece. Both of Whitely and Antley's assists came in the first half of the contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Jake Mezei registered the game's first goal in the 17th minute off a throw-in from the left side. Trenton Whitely hurled the ball to Conner Antley who then flicked the pass to Mezei for the early 1-0 advantage.

Just over one minute later Will Bagrou buried his seventh goal of the season, which turned out to be the game-winning strike. Bagrou's strike was also set up by Whitely and Antley.

Both squads traded goals in the second half to solidify the two-goal victory for the Bears. Mercer's second-half goal was scored by Wofford keeper Matthew Reynolds in the 61st minute. Reynolds indirectly punched a Mercer corner kick into the back of the net to provide the Bears with their third tally of the contest.
