MACON, Ga. – Mercer Men's Soccer split its second consecutive 1-1 decision, this time with the Runnin' Bulldogs of Gardner-Webb.

STAT OF THE MATCH
Mercer outshot Gardner-Webb, 23-4, including 5-3 in shots on goal. The Bears also registered six shots in overtime, holding the Runnin' Bulldogs to zero shots.

MAN OF THE MATCH
Will Bagrou netted his second goal of the season, garnering man of the match for the second time in three games. Bagrou's strike in the 28th minute pulled Mercer back to even with Gardner-Webb.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Runnin' Bulldogs found the back of the net just 17 seconds into the contest. Severin Soelie wound up with the ball just outside the 18-yard box and calmly scissor-kicked the ball into the upper right corner for the early 1-0 lead.

Mercer buckled down to outshoot Gardner-Webb 7-0 for the remainder of the half, including Bagrou's equalizing shot. Bagrou's strike was set up by Trenton Whitely off the free kick to pull the Bears even with the Runnin' Bulldogs.

Over the next three periods, Mercer outshot Gardner-Webb 16-3 but could not find the back of the net for the game-winning goal. Both Conner Antley and Whitely had shots hit the crossbar that would've delivered the game to Mercer, including Whitely's strike with 16 seconds left in the second overtime period.
