Three School Records Fall for Mercer in Savannah

Bears set records in 4x100 and 400-meter
SAVANNAH, Ga. – Mercer overcame difficult weather conditions to break three school records at Savannah State's Orange and Blue Classic at Theodor A. Wright Stadium on Saturday.

The Bears set new marks in the 4x100-meter dash and high jump – both of which were broken on Feb. 24 in Savannah – as well as the 400-meter dash. Madison Mueller's record-setting time of 57.17 in the 400-meter dash bested her previous school record (57.77) by six-tenths of a second. The junior then joined teammates Marion Meadows, Lauryn Dancy, Tessola Duncan and Sydney Campbell to break the 4x100-meter dash record with a time of 47.25 seconds.Â
Just two weeks after Myranda Ham set the high jump record with 1.46 meters, freshman Cherrish Wright shattered it by .12 meters (1.58).

Mercer was one of four NCAA Division I teams to compete in the 12-team field. Fourteen Bears competed in the meet.
