Bears Take Winning Streak on Road to ETSU

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer Bears' men's tennis team will head to Johnson City, Tenn. to face the ETSU Bucs this Sunday, April 1 at the Dave Mullins Tennis Complex.

Scouting the Bucs
ETSU enters Saturday's matchup with Wofford holding a 9-6 overall record and undefeated in SoCon play with a 3-0 conference mark. The Bucs have been phenomenal in conference play over the years as they have won 38 straight conference matches dating back to March 22, 2013 when they lost to North Florida in the ASUN. ETSU has seen great success as they were the ASUN Champions from 2007-2014 and Sun Belt Champions from 2015-2017. The Bucs are led by Sergi Fontcuberta who is 11-3 in singles play and David Gonzalez who is 10-2 in singles competitions on the season. Martin Stiegwardt is in his first season at the helm of the ETSU Bucs.

The Bears will continue conference play, traveling to Greensboro, N.C. to face the UNCG Spartans next Tuesday, April 3. Play is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
