Lindsey Zeltwanger nets game-winner for Mercer’s first SoCon win
DETROIT – Lindsey Zeltwanger netted the game-winning goal with one minute remaining in double overtime to lead Mercer to a 17-16 victory at Detroit Mercy on Saturday at Titan Field.

The win marked Mercer's first Southern Conference win as the Bears improved to 4-6 overall (1-1 SoCon). Detroit Mercy fell to 4-6 (0-1).

HOW IT HAPPENED
Detroit Mercy jumped out to a five-goal advantage over the first 12 minutes of play before Mercer erased the deficit with five goals of its own from Meghan Segreti, Kate Leone (two) and Erica Coyne (two). The Titans notched two goals to regain the lead before Jo Imbriani found the net to cut the deficit to one goal, 7-6, at halftime.

Trailing 11-8 with 23 minutes remaining, Mercer tallied five consecutive goals by Coyne, Lily Morin, Zeltwanger (two) and Imbriani to claim a two-goal advantage (13-11). The two teams traded momentum shifts over the final 20 minutes of play before Detroit Mercy tied the game at 16-16 with 21 seconds remaining in regulation.

Zeltwanger's goal came off an assist by Michaela Lucas with 1:19 remaining in double overtime after a scoreless first overtime period.
