Mercer will face Furman and Wofford at Five Star Stadium

MACON, Ga. – Mercer will host Furman and Wofford in Southern Conference action this weekend at Five Star Stadium to open a four-game home stretch. The Bears will begin the weekend facing Furman on Friday, April 6 at 5 p.m., followed by Wofford on Sunday, April 8 at 1 p.m.

Both games will be broadcast live via SoCon Digital Network.

SERIES HISTORY
Mercer heads into Friday with a 0-3 overall record against Furman. The teams met last year at Five Star Stadium, where the Paladins walked away with a 10-9 victory. This is Wofford's first season of the women's lacrosse program; they head into the weekend 0-10.

NOTABLES

Mercer leads the SoCon in goals per game (12.90), assists (6.360), points (19.20), draw controls (14.70) and shots per game (31.30).
Kate Leone leads the conference with 3.40 goals per game and 6.40 shots per game. Leone owns 34 goals for season. She is 30th nationally in shots on goal per game, averaging 5.20.
Lindsey Zeltwanger ranks second nationally and first in the conference in assists per game (3.00). Zeltwanger's 30 assists rank 3rd nationally. Zeltwanger also leads the SoCon in points per game (4.70), standing 21st nationally.
Audrey Robertson ranks second in the SoCon in ground balls per game (3.00), totaling 30 for the season. Robertson leads the conference in caused turnovers per game, averaging 2.10 per game, with Michaela Lucas following closely behind with 1.50 per game.
Meghan Segretti jumped to second place in draw controls per game, registering 4.30 per game and totaling 43 for the season.
Caitlin Smith leads the SoCon in game-winning goals, recording two this year.

SCOUTING FURMAN
Furman (2-8, 0-0) opens its SoCon schedule at Mercer after it recently defeated Stetson 15-14 in nonconference play on March 31.

Abby Shields leads the team with 34 points, including 19 goals and 15 assists. Sophie Brennan leads the draw circle, having notched 37 for the season. Maggie Friel defends the pipes, making 70 saves for the season registering a .366 save percentage. Courtney Baker has also spent time defending the goal, adding 32 saves this season.

SCOUTING WOFFORD
Wofford (0-10, 0-0) will play Kennesaw State on Friday before facing Mercer for its SoCon opener on Sunday. Hannah Mutch leads the Terrier with 20 points, including 14 goals for the season. Delaney Irwin leads the circle with 35 draw controls for the season. Wofford's starting goalie, Kelsey Thompson, has notched 105 saves for the season, registering a .343 save percentage.
