Mercer hosts Old Dominion, Coastal Carolina this weekend
MACON, Ga. – Mercer will host Old Dominion and Coastal Carolina in nonconference action this weekend at Five Star Stadium to end its home schedule.

The Bears begin the weekend by hosting the Monarchs at 4 p.m. Friday, following by Senior Day against the Chanticleers at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Both games will be broadcast live via SoCon Digital Network.

SERIES HISTORY
Mercer heads into Friday with a 1-2 overall record against Old Dominion. The teams' last meeting was in Norfolk, Va., where the Bears walked away with a 10-8 win. Mercer has never defeated Coastal Carolina, owning a 0-2 record after a 16-7 loss last season. Â

SCOUTING OLD DOMINION
Old Dominion (4-8, 2-1 ASUN), which recently defeated Stetson, 12-11, on Sunday, will travel to Macon to face the Bears on Friday. The Monarchs previously downed SoCon foe, Delaware State 21-1.

Sophia Richie leads the team with 28 points, including 25 goals and three assists. Katie Miller leads the draw circle, having notched 49 for the season. Lauren Ey defends the pipes, making 69 saves for the season registering a .343 save percentage.

Coastal Carolina (5-7, 2-1) will play Kennesaw State on Friday before facing Mercer for its Senior Day on Sunday. Haley Alexander leads the Chanticleers with 42 points, including 29 goals for the season. Sophie Crowther leads the circle with 43 draw controls for the season. Coastal Carolina's starting goalie, Harley Barrett, has notched 96 saves for the season, registering a .442 save percentage.

- Ten seniors will be honored before Sunday's game against Coastal Carolina. The ten seniors include: Lindsey Zeltwanger, Kate Leone, Victoria Ferdinandi, Kate Christian, Erica Coyne, Michele Holmes, Gabby Goldberg, Meghan Segretti, Tori Blakeman and Haleigh Wurzel. These ten were involved in the startup program and have played a major role in the four seasons at Mercer.
- Mercer leads the SoCon in goals per game (13.83), assists (6.42), points (20.25), draw controls (15.08) and shots per game (32.00).
- Kate Leone leads the conference with 3.08 goals per game and 6.00 shots per game. Leone owns 37 goals for season. She is 60th nationally in shots on goal per game, averaging 4.67.
- Lindsey Zeltwanger ranks second nationally and first in the conference in assists per game (3.00). Zeltwanger's 36 assists rank 3rd nationally. Zeltwanger also leads the SoCon in points per game (4.92), standing 13th nationally.
- Audrey Robertson ranks second in the SoCon in ground balls per game (2.92), totaling 35 for the season. Robertson leads the conference in caused turnovers per game, averaging 1.92 per game, with Michaela Lucas following closely behind with 1.33 per game.
- Meghan Segretti jumped to first place in draw controls per game, registering 4.67 per game and totaling 56 for the season.
