Mercer faces Chattanooga in Southern Conference Tournament
MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's tennis team will begin their quest for the 2018 Southern Conference Tournament Championship this Friday morning as they take on the No. 7 seeded Chattanooga Mocs at the Champions Club in Chattanooga, Tenn. Play is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m.

Scouting the Mocs
Chattanooga enters the tournament posting an 8-15 overall record and 1-6 conference mark over the regular season. The Mocs are currently on a three-match skid, most recently dropping a 6-1 decision to UNCG in their regular season finale. In the two team's last meeting on March 13, Mercer claimed a 6-1 contest at the friendly confines of the LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center. Niklas Gerdes plays the No. 1 singles position for the Mocs and has recorded a 10-11 record over the season. Chattanooga is led by Chuck Merzbacher who is serving in his first season as the men's tennis coach.

The winner of Friday's match will go on to face the winner of the match between No. 3 Furman and No. 6 Wofford, on Saturday, April 21. Play is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
