Mercer faces Jacksonville, Stetson this weekend

MACON, Ga. – Mercer will travel to Florida this weekend to close out its nonconference schedule against Jacksonville and Stetson.

Both contests against the former ASUN Conference foes will be streamed live to watch. The Bears (5-9) will face the Dolphins at 4 p.m. Friday and the Hatters at noon on Sunday.

SERIES HISTORY
Mercer has never defeated Jacksonville, owning a 0-3 record after a 17-4 loss last season. The Bears head into Sunday's game with a 3-0 overall record against Stetson. The teams' last meeting was in Deland, Fla., where the Bears walked away with a 13-12 win.

NOTABLES

Mercer leads the SoCon in draw controls per game (14.86), groundballs (20.86) and shots per game (31.36).
Kate Leone ranks second in the conference with 2.86 goals per game and 5.93 shots per game. Leone owns 40 goals for season. She is 76th nationally in shots on goal per game, averaging 4.43.
Lindsey Zeltwanger ranks sixth nationally and first in the conference in assists per game (2.64). Zeltwanger's 37 assists rank sixth nationally. Zeltwanger also ranks second in the SoCon in points per game (4.929), standing 32nd nationally.
Audrey Robertson ranks third in the SoCon in ground balls per game (2.71), totaling 38 for the season. Robertson leads the conference in caused turnovers per game, averaging 1.93 per game, with Michaela Lucas following closely behind with 1.36 per game.
Meghan Segretti ranks second in draw controls per game, registering 4.43 per game and totaling 62 for the season.

SCOUTING JACKSONVILLE
Jacksonville (11-3, 3-0 ASUN) defeated SoCon opponent Delaware State, 23-1, last Saturday. The Dolphins own three total wins over SoCon schools this season, including a 19-7 victory over Furman and 29-7 win over Wofford.

Ashtyn Hiron leads the team with 61 points, including 48 goals and 13 assists. Hiron also leads the draw circle, having notched 66 controls for the season. Emily Poelma and Kristen Brunofort split time defending the pipes, totaling 68 saves for the season.

SCOUTING STETSON
Stetson (4-10, 1-2 ASUN) will play Kennesaw State on Friday before facing Mercer on Sunday. Hallie Merz leads the Hatters with 44 points, including 14 goals and 30 assists for the season. Maddie Holvey leads the circle with 52 draw controls for the season. Stetson's starting goalie, Liza Diamond, has notched 123 saves for the season, registering a .427 save percentage.
