Mercer falls to Dolphins in nonconference
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Mercer fell to host Jacksonville, 19-7, in nonconference action on Friday at D.B. Milne Field despite a career-high 14 saves by goal Iseabal Cryne.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Jacksonville jumped out to a commanding five-goal advantage to open the contest before Kate Leone notched Mercer's first goal with 13 minutes remaining in the first half. Meghan Segreti added another for the Bears one minute later to create momentum, but the Dolphins responded with a 5-1 run to end the half and took a 10-3 advantage into the intermission.
Segreti added her second goal of the contest to quell a three-goal run by Jacksonville that opened the second half. Mercer tallied the final three goals of the game via Erica Coyne, Lindsey Zeltwanger and Eva Thorn, but not before Jacksonville extended its lead to double-digits.
