Bears Blow Past Terriers, Dominating Wofford 23-5

MACON, Ga. – Mercer cruised past Wofford Sunday afternoon, defeating the Terriers, 23-5. The Bears improve to 2-2 in Southern Conference action, while the Terriers dropped their opening conference match.

The Bears recorded a team-high 23 goals this season, with 15 players contributing at least one.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Mercer opened Sunday's game with a Bear goal within the first 53 seconds. What seemed to be a close battle the first six minutes of the contest, quickly ended when the Bears sparked a 12-0 run to end the half, 15-2. Ten different Bears contributed to the offensive jump past the Terriers.

Meghan Segreti opened the second half, notching her second goal of the game, and Mercer's 16th. Wofford was allowed only three more goals in the contest. Mercer's Kate Christian, Audrey Robertson, Amya Hudson and Gabby Goldberg would each notch one goal apiece before the clock timed out.
PLAYER OF THE GAME
Erica Coyne recorded a season-high four goals off five shots marking a .510 shot percentage. Coyne also added two draw controls against the Terriers. The senior has totaled 26 goals for the season.
