MACON, Ga. – Mercer hosts the inaugural Southern Conference tournament at Five Star Stadium beginning on Thursday, May 3. The Bears will face No. 1 Detroit Mercy at 5 p.m. The winner will advance to the championship on Saturday, May 5 at noon to take on the winner of No. 2 Central Michigan and No. 3 Furman.Â

The contests will be live streamed and will have live stats provided. Tickets will be sold at the gate, $5 for students with student ID and $10 for non-students.

Mercer heads into Thursday's game with a 1-4 overall record against Detroit Mercy. The teams most recently clashed in Detroit, Mich. on March 31 as the Bears walked away with a 17-16 double overtime victory.

SCOUTING DETROIT MERCY
Detroit Mercy (10-7, 4-1 SoCon) will travel to Macon, Ga. to face No. 4 Mercer for the start of the SoCon tournament. Kaitlyn Wandelt leads the Titans with 80 points, including 59 goals and 21 assists for the season. Wandelt also leads the team in draw control wins, notching 71 for the season. The Titans starting goalie has registered 159 saves while averaging a .453 save percentage.

The Titans had nine players earn All-Conference awards on Tuesday, including Offensive (Wandelt) and Defensive (Allison McDonough) Players of the Year, Freshman of the Year (Meredith Moore) and Head Coach of the Year (Laurie Merian).

- The Bears placed six on the All-Southern Conference Team announced by the league on Tuesday. Kate Leone, Lindsey Zeltwanger and Audrey Robertson were all named to the first team. - Leone ranks second in the conference with 2.71 goals per game and third in shots per game with 5.65 shots per game. Leone has accumulated 46 goals on the season, ranking 62nd nationally.
- Meghan Segreti ranks third in draw controls per game, registering 4.29 per game and totaling 68 for the season.
- Iseabal Cryne ranks third in the conference in saves (119), save percentage (0.390) and saves per game (7.00).
- Coyne leads the SoCon in shot percentage, registering 0.537 for the season.
