Mercer takes on Austin Peay Friday before facing Jacksonville State Sunday
MACON, Ga. – The Mercer women's soccer squad will continue their home stand, hosting Austin Peay and Jacksonville State at Betts Stadium this weekend. The Bears will first take on Austin Peay this Friday, Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. Mercer will conclude the weekend facing Jacksonville State on Sunday, Sept. 9.

Friday's matchup will be the first time Mercer has faced Austin Peay. The Bears own a 12-4-1 advantage over Jacksonville State. Last time the two squads met (9/15/13), Mercer prevailed 4-0.

Austin Peay enters Friday's matchup currently riding a two-match losing skid. Last time out (9/2/18), the Governors fell to Mississippi State, 4-0. Austin Peay has netted eight goals on the season for an average of 1.60 per outing. Claire Larose leads the team in points (6) with a trio of goals on the year, including one game-winner. Megan Lerch has started in between the posts in all of Jacksonville State's matches, grabbing 10 saves while allowing three goals. The Gamecocks are led by Neil Macdonald who enters his sixth year with the program.
UP NEXT
Following this weekend's home stand, the Bears will hit the road for a four-match swing away from Betts Stadium, beginning by traveling to Alabama State next Friday, Sept. 14. The match is slated for 7 p.m.
