
Mercer Sweeps Wofford in SoCon Match

MACON, Ga.  – The Mercer Bears volleyball team went 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-22) on Friday night against Wofford Terriers in Hawkins Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set One (25-18) | Mercer started on a 3-0 run behind two kills from Brittany Major and a Megan Smith service ace. The Bears would dominate the first set going on two 4-0 runs. Wofford would give the Bears one of their last two points before Brittany Major ended the set with a kill.

Set Two (25-18) | The second set was back and forth in the beginning but the Bears would pull away going on a 8-1 run to make the score 18-13. Mercer would come within one from two kills from Annie Karle and a kill from Jaida Howell. Nya Steele would get the set for Mercer with a sneak attack kill.

Set Three (25-22) | Mercer and Wofford started the third set in a back and forth battle. The set included five ties and one lead change. The Bears would have two service aces, one Annie Karle and Emilee Wissmach. Jaida Howell would end the set and match with a kill.
