Bears back at Betts Thursday against Belmont

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Mercer Men's Soccer team fell, 0-2, to UNCG in Southern Conference action Tuesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Mercer took 13 shots in the game, four of which were on target and saved by Spartans goalie Brendan Pulley. Four different players – Trevor Martineau, Roberto Arteaga, Dawson Gideon and Kevin Kim – each took two shots and put one on goal in the contest.

The Spartans took advantage of two of their five on-target shots, scoring goals in the 23^rd (Micah Albert) and 70^th (Cameron Fowler) minutes of the match.

NOTABLES

Mercer outshot UNCG, 13-8, in the match, but the Bears only had four shots on goal.
Tuesday's loss for the Bears marked the third time they were shutout this season – at South Carolina and ETSU.
The match marked the final road test of the season for Mercer. The Bears will host Belmont (Thursday) and VMI (Saturday) to close out the regular season.

UP NEXT
The Bears will host a make-up game against Belmont at Betts Stadium Thursday night at 7 – the game was originally scheduled on October 19 but was postponed due to rain from Tropical Storm Nestor.
