Mercer Heads to Samford for SoCon Contest

MACON, Ga. – The Mercer Bears will head to Birmingham, Ala. to take on Samford Bulldogs at 8 p.m. in the Pete Hanna Center.

The Bulldogs lead the all-time series against the Bears. The last matchup was earlier this month, the Bulldogs taking the match in straight sets.

Mercer earned back-to-back conference sweeps, against Wofford and The Citadel, for the first time in school recorded history.
Jaida Howell continues to lead the conference in hitting percentage.
Junior Megan Smith recorded 26 digs this weekend, bringing her season total to 248.
Mercer is ranked in the top five for hitting percentage, assists, kills, blocks, and service aces in the SoCon.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
The Bulldogs are coming off a 3-1 win against Wofford on Saturday. They are led by head coach Keylor Chan, who is in his fourth season with Samford. The Bulldogs are 10-1 in the Southern Conference so far, their only loss comes from ETSU who won in five sets. Senior Kelsi Hobbs leads the team with 322 kills on the season so far.
