Mercer Falls Short to Western Carolina

CULLOWHEE, N.C.  – The Mercer Bears volleyball team went 1-3 (8-25, 27-25, 20-25, 11-25) Saturday night against Western Carolina.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Set One (8-25) | Annie Karle opened the scoring for the Bears with a kill. Roberta Todd recorded two kills in the set. The Catamounts would take the first set.

Set Two (27-25) | The Bears started out taking five of the first seven points of the set with kills from Alexia Morey, Brittany Major, and Roberta Todd. The Catamounts would keep it close but the Bears would score six of the last eight points to take the set.

Set Three (20-25) | The third set would include three ties and no lead changes. Redshirt senior Alexia Morey recorded three kills and a block in the set. The Bears would score four of the last six points but it wouldn't be enough to down Western Carolina.

Set Four (11-25) | Annie Karle and Brittany Major scored the first two points for the Bears. Jaida Howell recorded three kills in the set but the Catamounts would take the set and match.
