Mercer Women’s Lacrosse Travels to Winthrop

MACON, Ga. – Mercer (3-5) will hit the road for the first time since Feb. 23, traveling to Rock Hill, S.C. to face the Winthrop Eagles. The contest will take place on Saturday, March 23 at 1 p.m. on the Eagle Field.

SERIES HISTORY
The Bears and the Eagles have only clashed once in the respective overall series. The two teams first met last season in Macon, Ga. where Winthrop walked away with a 14-9 win.

Audrey Robertson ranks fourth in the nation in caused turnovers per game (2.57) and 20th in ground balls per game (3.38).
Hailey Rhatigan ranks 14th nationally for shots per game (7.75), 47th in goals (23), 44th in goals per game (2.88), 33rd for shots on goal per game (5.00). The freshman ranks second in the conference in points (28) and points per game (3.50).
Eva Thorn leads the conference and ranks eighth in the nation for free position goals per game (0.75), notching six for the season.
Iseabal Cryne ranks 21st nationally in saves (80) and saves per game (10.00). The sophomore leads the conference in goals-against average (12.50).
Michaela Lucas leads the Bears in draw controls, averaging 3.88 per game.

SCOUTING WINTHROP
The Eagles enter Saturday's contest at 1-8 overall, having fallen to Kennesaw State who the Bears recently defeated 20-9. Winthrop is led by Lauren Morris, who has totaled 20 goals, 31 draw controls and eight assists for the season. Alaina Girani defends the pipes for the Eagles, averaging a .439 save percentage after totaling 97 saves.
