Wright Leads Mercer Women at UNF Invite

Bears competed in 9 events in Jacksonville
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Sophomore Cherrish Wright had a standout individual performance for the Mercer women's track and field team at the UNF Spring Break Invite at Hodges Stadium on Friday.

Wright set a school record with a 14.73-second finish in the 100-meter hurdles and added a Southern Conference-leading time of 24.86 seconds in the 200-meter dash. Wright additionally helped Mercer's "B" 4x100-meter relay team run a season-best time of 47.20 seconds.

Four Bears – Ashley McMahon, Marina Van Sickle, Madison Cowart and Jerrica Hanson – all ran season-best times in the 5000-meter run as well.

Kennedi Weston-Shields bested her previous season-best time in the 400-meter dash with a 58.74-second finish. Lauryn Dancy additionally recorded a season-best time of 12.22 seconds in the 100-meter dash and finished 16th in the event.
