Bears continue conference play with Paladins
MACON, Ga. – Mercer (1-8, 1-2 SoCon) will continue Southern Conference play on the road against Furman at noon Saturday in Greenville, S.C. The game will have live stats and a live stream on ESPN3 provided.

SERIES HISTORY
The Bears and the Paladins will face off for the fifth time on Saturday. Mercer owns a 3-1 lead in the series but most recently suffered a 7-6 loss to Furman in Macon on March 31, 2018.
ABOUT THE BEARS
Mercer is 1-2 in league play heading into Saturday's match. Sean Goldsmith and Michael Quinn lead the Bears' offense. Goldsmith has garnered 22 points for the Bears while Quinn follows closely behind with 21 points. Ashton Wood leads the circle, earning 85 face-off wins this season so far. Josh Tarver defends the pipes for the Bears, recording 93 saves this season while averaging a .535 save percentage.
SCOUTING FURMAN
Furman has lost five straight matches and has earned its two wins of the year against Canisius and Hampton. The Paladins have recently fallen to three conference foes – Richmond (8-13), Air Force (7-11) and High Point (10-17). Jarrett Birch leads the offense with seven goals and two assists. Michael Abizaid leads the circle earning 32 face-off wins this season so far. Alec Van de Bovenkamp defends the pipes with 53 saves and a .445 save percentage.
