Mercer Men Begin Fall at LA Tech

Bears start 2019-20 season in Louisiana
MACON, Ga. – The Mercer men's golf team will head to Ruston, La. to open the 2019-20 season at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate hosted by Louisiana Tech at Squire Creek Golf Course in Choudrant, La.
The three-day event begins Sunday at 8 a.m. with a fixed start as the field will play 18 holes on day one. Monday morning's round with also begin at 8 a.m., while Tuesday's finale will start with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. as well.

COACH KAYDEN'S TAKE
"The guys are very excited to get the season underway after the cancellation in Charleston last week due to the Hurricane," head coach Kirk Kayden said. "We have had some very good qualifying scores and the guys have put in a lot of hard work in leading into the first event. Preparation in the practice round will be important this week as Squire Creek is very good golf course with many two tiered greens, approach shot placement will be important. I am looking forward to this year as many of our guys have a lot of experience and we are going to play with a high level of confidence".
