Mercer Takes I-75 Battle against Kennesaw State

Bears defeat Owls 13-10
KENNESAW, GA. – Mercer women's lacrosse defeated the Kennesaw State Owls 13-10 in a midweek matchup.
Senior Lily Morin put the Bears on the board 1:07 into the game with an assist from Eva Thorn. Katie Martin would follow less than two minutes later with a goal from Hailey Rhatigan. The Black and Orange would go on a 3-2 run with goals from Rhatigan, Catie Snee, and Chloe Schaeffer. Junior Cailey Thornburg would score a woman down goal with an assist from Morin to put Mercer up 6-2. The Owls would go on a 5-1 run to end the first half tied at seven.

Thornburg would open the second half scoring with a goal from Morin. Eva Thorn would add to the Bears total 4:05 later with an unassisted goal. Thorn would assist Morin for Morin's third goal of the night. Kennesaw State would tie it up with eight-minute left but the Bears would go on a 3-0 run to end the game. Katie Ryan, Catie Snee, and Lily Morin would add to the Bears scoring to end the game 13-10.

Mercer will head home and welcome the Vermont Catamounts to Five Star for a Sunday afternoon matchup. The game is set for 1 p.m. and will be streamed on the SoCon Digital Network.
