Bears win streak grows to four
WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Mercer men's lacrosse defeated the Monmouth Hawks 10-7 in a Saturday afternoon game. Sean Goldsmith led the team with three goals. Â
Mercer's Carl Klepper opened the scoring 47 seconds into the game with an assist from Cole Leggett. The Bears would continue on a 3-0 run to put Mercer up 4-0. Michael Quinn and Will McCarthy would register the next two, followed by Klepper's second of the game. McCarthy would score his second goal and the Bears only goal in the second quarter. The Bears would lead 5-3 at the half.
Leggett scored his fourth goal of the season 2:15 into the third quarter with an assist from Daniel Shumake. Sean Goldsmith's first goal of the game would come at the 9:05 mark of the third quarter. His second came a few minutes later with an assist from Shumake. Goldsmith and Collin Stewart would close out the Bears scoring to give Goldsmith is six consecutive game with a hat trick. The Bears would defeat the Hawks 10-6.

Mercer will head to Townson, MD. for a neutral site game against Cleveland State on Monday. The contest is set for 3 p.m.
