
Men’s Tennis Andrew Branicki Shines at Summer Championships

Branicki is set to join the Bears this fall
MACON, Ga. – Mercer Men's Tennis signee Andrew Branicki had a successful tournament at the One Love Open Hard Court Summer Championships this past week.

The doubles tournament, which was held in Peachtree Corners, Ga., had Branicki partnered with Tyler Stice of Auburn. Branicki and Stice have played together since they were 11 years old and have won multiple national and southern championship titles together at every age.

The tournament featured doubles players from following schools: Mercer, Duke, Vanderbilt, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Presbyterian, Harvard, Chicago, Auburn, Central Florida, Penn, Belmont, Charlotte, Oglethorpe, Wisconsin and players from New Zealand, Belgium.

Opening the tournament, Branicki and Stice made quick work of their opponents, Karl Gifford and Christopher Hancock. Branicki and Stice earned a 6-0, 6-1 victory. The win moved the duo to the quarterfinals where they defeated Galen Lee (Harvard) and Jeremy Yuan (Chicago), 6-1, 6-4.

The duo's success continued into the semifinals as they battled their way to a 6-4, 6-2 victory over the two seed, Blake Croyder and Billy Rowe of Georgia.

Branicki and Stice faced the top seed Keshav Chopra and Andrews Martin of Georgia Tech in the finals. The duo from Georgia Tech defeated Branicki and Stice, 6-2, 6-1.
