Mercer to open NCAA Tournament play
MACON, Ga. – After winning the SoCon's automatic bid by defeating Belmont, 4-3, the Mercer men's soccer team will matchup with the ACC's Wake Forest in the opening round of the annual invitational. The game will be shown on ACC Network Extra, which can be found on the ESPN App.

This is the Demon Deacons' 11th-consecutive appearance in the NCAA tournament, which is the longest mark in the ACC and second nationally. Wake Forest has won seven of its last 10 matches, including a defeat of then-No. 5 Virginia Tech and have surrendered just 10 goals in their run. Kyle Holcomb leads the Wake Forest attack with nine goals and four assists, totaling 22 points. Trace Alphin has stopped 31 shots while between the posts for the Demon Deacons, and has totaled nearly 1,200 minutes on season.
