Mercer faces Kennesaw State in Hawkins Arena

MACON, Ga. – After a season-long four-game road swing, the Mercer Bears will welcome Kennesaw State for a Monday night matchup, with the tip set for 7 p.m.

Last Time Out
The Bears took down South Alabama last Friday by a 67-53 score in Mobile. Four Bears notched double-digit points and Shannon Titus put up a double-double in what was Coach Gardner's 200^th win as the Mercer head coach.

Series History
Mercer and Kennesaw State are meeting for the 25^th time in series history. The Bears hold a 13-11 advantage over their former ASUN foes, and have won four of the last five against the Owls. Two seasons ago, KSU took a 92-64 decision in their last meeting.

New Season, New Bears
There will be plenty of new faces at Hawkins Arena for the 2021-22 season, as Mercer welcomes eight new student-athletes – Kinley Fisher, Endia Banks, Erin Houpt, Erin Gutierrez, Kassidy Jones, Nigeria Harkless, Ashlee Locke and Lauren McNamara-Clement – to campus.

Scouting the Owls
Kennesaw State enters the matchup with a 2-4 mark, having just fallen to Hofstra by a 72-57 score. In the game prior to the Pride, the Owls took down SoCon member, Chattanooga, by a 75-68 margin. Alexis Poole's 13.2 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game lead the Kennesaw State offense throught their first six games of the season. Poole's 32 defensive boards also pace the Owls' defense.
